Our destinations list has been updated on our website recently, as we have been invited to work alongside Projects Abroad in the latter part of 2015 at their marine conservation projects in Fiji, Thailand and Cambodia.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to share our Friends for Sharks work and help the volunteers and islanders at each project learn about shark conservation. We are really looking forward to also learning about Project Abroad’s incredible work in the world of marine and shark conservation and sharing this with you. Watch this space during our World Tour for Sharks 2015 for regular updates on our progress and the latest news about this exciting partnership.
Projects Abroad have created a Global Shark Campaign, which aims to give people from all walks of life the opportunity to help with the conservation of sharks and other marine life and we will be visiting the HQ of this campaign in Fiji. If you are interested in taking part in this campaign you can call Projects Abroad on 01903 441 002 or email sharks@projects-abroad.org.
The WWF’s global shark conservation work is led by Ian Campbell and they have recently launched their Pacific Shark Heritage Programme. You can read about Ian’s experience of Projects Abroad and a potential collaboration between WWF and Projects Abroad, which is fantastic new for sharks, here.
